Vincent Desplat is a French National, living in Indonesia for now 7 years. He has been behind the scenes at Hatten Wines, as winemaker, since the beginning of the adventure.

Specialized in Viticulture and Oenology during his Agronomy studies and recipient of a French National Diploma of Oenology, Mr. Desplat has extensive work experience in the field of winemaking and viticulture. First at Chateau Clarke in Médoc-Bordeaux as assistant winemaker, then at 'L'Institut Coopératif du Vin de France', his career continued with interesting experiences outside his homeland. He went on with an assistant winemaker position at a leading winery, Plantagenet Wines, in Australia to an Internship for Rhone-Poulenc in Sudan as agronomist and a National Service at Jinro in South Korea. consultant for grapes varieties, wine making procedures and winery planning, Mr. Desplat was then the liaison between the French Embassy's and the giant Korean beverage producer for technology transfers programs. Before another step outside France, Mr. Desplat took a few months to undergo some research for the 'Wine Technical Institut' of France for 'Beaujolais Primeur' techniques.

His career once again took Mr. Desplat to overseas experience when he was called as winemaker for a family established winery in Western Australia, Henley Park, where he stayed on for seven years. His portfolio of winemaking experience comprises of: Portuguese-style Port, Sauternes, Beaujolais, Margaret River Cabernet, Rhine Riesling, Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Semillon and Sparkling wine.

At Hatten Wines, he has expanded this list with the now famous Balinese Rosé since 1994, the lovely Jepun Sparkling Rosé made with the traditional method of champagne, the new Aga Red light red wine, the surprising Alexandria slightly sweet white and the Pino de Bali fortified wine. He also has been advisor for the vineyard's management and in charge for all production operations.
